The event will be conducted during the prime time entertainment in the ballroom. Preliminary round selection: Contestants will work in groups of 3 as per their entry form. . Preliminary round selection will be held on June 30 morning only if we receive entries from more than 4 teams. You must bring a pencil with you. Consult the registration counter for the room. There will a simple test with information selected from all areas in Veerashaiva philosophy and vachana literature. The type of questions will be: 1) TRUE OR FALSE; 2) MULTIPLE CHOICE; 3) PICTOGRAPH; 4) CROSSWORD PUZZLE, etc. Duration will be 15 min. There is no pass or fail. The winning teams should immediately call or send text message to the quiz coordinator indicating the team’s willingness to participate in the final round quiz. If no response is received, the Committee reserves the right to select the next team on the waiting list.

  • The Main Session: The main session will be held on June 30 at 6 pm in the Grand Ballroom. The first 4 teams (4 x 3= 12 candidates) will take their seats on the dais..
  • Practice/Training session: It is similar to that of ABC Jeopardy game except that it is not fully computerized. It will last for 10 min. The objective of this session is getting acquainted with the system. Scored marks will not be carried over and will not be counted toward final award.
  • First single round: Actual session begins. 100 points for each ‘ANSWER’ put up by the quizmaster to the contestants. The quiz board will be displayed on the screen via PowerPoint slides. Contestants will choose a subject category (e.g., Basavanna, Akka Mahadevi, Vachana, Linga Pooja, Religious places, etc.) of their choice. In this round, there will be 5 categories with 5 queries in each, i.e., a total of 25 queries with 100 points each. That means a maximum score of 2500 points is at stake. As in Jeopardy, there will be a negative marking of 100 points for each wrong attempt! Duration to answer in the form of ‘QUESTION’ for each query is 10 seconds.
  • Second double round: All four teams will enter the 2nd round. This is a double point quiz. As in the first round, there will be 5 categories with 5 queries in each, i.e., a total of 25 queries (‘ANSWERS’) with 200 points each (thus it is known as ‘double quiz’). That means, a maximum score of 5000 points is at stake. There will be a negative marking of 200 points for a wrong attempt! Duration to answer in the form of ‘QUESTION’ for each query is 10 seconds.
  • Final bonus round: waging the points: At the end of second round, the scorekeeper will display the total number of marks earned by each team thru a second projector. A team with a positive score can only enter the final round. In the third or final bonus round, each team will wage or surrender ‘certain number of points’ to answer a unique question in a specific category. The quiz master will display the category and will give 20 seconds for the teams to think and then surrender or wage points. The teams can wage from ‘0 to maximum points’ earned by them in previous two rounds. E.g., if a team has earned 250 points, they are eligible to wage all 250 points. If the team answers correctly in the final ‘BONUS ROUND’, then the waged points will be added to the points earned in previous two rounds. If not answered, the waged points will be deducted from the total points earned in two rounds.
  • Grading: The first three teams will be graded in a descending order to earn 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. All 3 teams will be honored on the stage
  • The quiz ends
